Where I used it
- Smart Investment Boutique Properties. The summer after tenth grade I worked with the CEO of a boutique property fund, split between Miami and Valencia, on luxury hotel acquisitions in Spain and Portugal. I built the Excel models and investor decks, did the tax and risk analysis, and got to see how a deal actually gets underwritten from the inside.
- Berkeley Real Estate Investment Group. I was one of the founding analysts at BREIG. The work is structuring debt on Bay Area property, modeling capital stacks, and figuring out what a sponsor actually earns after the lenders are paid. I also set up the BREIG Case Competition so other students could get a real look at residential real estate.
- HootBoard. A summer at HootBoard building reinforcement learning models in Python for procurement and product recommendations. The models moved revenue and acquisition cost in the right directions, and I also built some data collection tooling so the team could see supplier trends.
